Kharadi, 1st February 2023: More than 500 people from 150 flat buyers are left stranded by a builder in the Kharadi area of Pune. A Guardian Eastern Meadows project was sanctioned in the Kharadi area where people started investing from 2015-16. But to date, they have not been given possession of their flats.

Reportedly, the builder abruptly stopped the construction without giving any notice. Flat owners from the project informed that firstly they went to Grahak Panchayat to seek help. After two years of waiting, their Advocate advised them to seek help from RERA.

While talking to PunekarNews.in, a flat buyer informed, “After seeking help from RERA, the builder stopped the construction completely. It’s been more than four years now but there is no improvement at all. The flat owners are now demanding our money back. Lot of us paid 50 per cent of the total cost, while some paid 70 per cent of the entire possession.”

“Only the work for phase one has been completed, but yet, people can not live in the said building. No lights, no proper infrastructure, and no facilities are provided by the builder. Along with this, the completion certificate of phase one is also not provided to the flat owners,” another buyer added further.

Now the flat owners are waiting for the dates of RERA’s second hearing, which is getting delayed.

Manish Sabade from Guardian Developers, told PunekarNews.in that the dispute between the builder and the landowner caused the delay. Our attempt at reconciliation with the landlord has failed since he is so adamant about accepting certain conditions. We have done every single thing ordered by RERA. Moreover, the site is currently in the finishing stage, and we could turn it over in a month or two.
