Pune: Woman Raped With Lure Of Marriage, Accused Extorts Rs Five Lakh From Her
Pune, 29th January 2023: An incident of rape of a young woman on the pretext of medical treatment has come to light. A case has been registered against one person. The accused has been identified as Tapan Anant Thatte (37), a resident of Kothrud. The young woman has filed a complaint at the Kothrud police station.
Thatte had lured the young woman into marriage. On the lure of marriage, he raped the girl in a flat in the Kothrud area. After that, Thatte told the girl that he urgently needed money for his mother’s treatment. He extorted Rs five lakh from the girl. The girl demanded the money back from him. He abused and threatened the girl. After realizing the fraud, the girl lodged a complaint with the police. Crime Branch Police Inspector Patil is investigating.
