Pune, 17th January 2023: The Regional Transport Office (RTO) has finally made a temporary facility to file complaints against autorickshaw drivers in the city. It provides helpline number 1800-120-80-40 of “Aaple Sarkar”. Regional Transport Officer Ajit Shinde said the complaints will be taken into consideration.

Citizens are constantly making many complaints against the rickshaw drivers, such as charging more than the meter fare to the passengers, unruly behaviour and refusing the nearest fare. For this, there has been a demand for starting a helpline from the citizens for filing various complaints against the autorickshaw drivers for the past few days.

Walk & Pose Cast India

More than one lakh autorickshaw drivers are serving passengers daily in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad cities. Citizens have many good and bad experiences while travelling by autorickshaw in the city. In the city, citizens are facing many problems, however, no concrete steps have been taken so far.

Citizens do not complain because they do not know where to lodge complaints or the process is complicated. A complaint to the RTO is required to take action against the rickshaw drivers. For this, the complaint has to be made through email id, post, or in person. Very few complaints are received by the RTO due to the complicated mechanism for filing complaints. As a result, the RTO has received only 34 complaints in the last eight months.

RTO has appealed to citizens to register complaints at 1800-120-80-40.
