Pune: Accused In Sextortion Arrested From Rajasthan For Abetting Suicide Of Youth Last Year

Pune, 15th January 2023: A young man died by suicide due to the threat of making a nude video viral by contacting through a mobile using a woman’s WhatsApp DP. This incident took place on September 30 last year.

In this case, the Sahakarnagar police station officials worked hard for eight days and arrested the accused from Rajasthan.

According to police, the accused had extorted Rs 4500. Even after that, the cyber gang repeatedly called the young man and threatened to upload his nude videos on social media. The youth had sent a message to the accused saying “I will commit suicide”, but the accused kept asking him for money.

After getting information that the accused was in Rajasthan, a team comprising Police Sub Inspector Hasan Mulani and police personnel Sanjay Gaikwad, Sagar Sutkar, Nikhil Rajivde, Sagar Kumbhar went to Raipur Suketi in Sikri tehsil of Bharatpur district. After searching for eight days with the help of local police, the cops nabbed the accused.

The action was supervised by DCP (Zone 2) Smartana Patil, ACP Sushma Chavan, and Senior Police Inspector Savalaram Salgaonkar.
