Pune: MNGL Pipeline Caught Fire Last Night In Sinhgad Road Area, No Injuries Or Fatalities

Pune, 13th January 2023: Two incidents of fire were recorded in Pune last night. At 12:10 am on 13th January, a gas pipeline of MNGL company caught fire at Rajaram bridge on Sinhagad road. A fire engine was dispatched from Janta Vasahat and Erandwane Fire Station. Officials of MNGL Company were contacted and informed about the incident.

On reaching the spot, the fire brigade saw a massive fire at the side of the road. The jawans were alert and started spraying water in the form of foam. As the fire suddenly spread to three places in one square, additional help from another fire engine and a jumbo water tanker was called from the fire headquarters. Also, the officials of MNGL Company said the air pressure at the place is 12 bar and the main valve at Rajaram Bridge and Parvati Water Purification Center has been closed by reducing the pressure gradually.

After that, the fire brigade personnel continued to use water at the three places. The air pressure was reduced to two bars at 4 am reducing the amount of fire. Fortunately, no one was injured in this incident, and there was no loss of life.

Fire officers Rajesh Jagtap, Gajanan Pathrudkar, Pankaj Jagtap, Subhash Jadhav and Tandel Rajaram Kedari, Ananta Jadhav, Sandeep Ghadshi and jawans Chhagan More, Shafiq Syed, Mahendra Sakpal, and Shailesh Davene brought the fire under control and prevented further damage.

In a second incident, at 11:10 pm on 12th January, a fire engine was dispatched from Sinhagad Fire Station as soon as the fire control room received a report of a fire at Narhe Dhayari Road, Bhosle Industries. At the same time, a vehicle was dispatched from the PMRDA fire station too.

 

As soon as the brigade reached the spot, they noticed a massive fire in a Godown, which is a shed, and additional help was requested from the headquarters. The jawans immediately tried to put out the fire and searched to see if anyone was trapped inside. After making sure that no one was trapped inside, the fire was brought under control in about an hour and the fire was completely extinguished in the morning. The jawans ensured the fire did not spread.

 

In this fire, two godowns of scrap goods were completely burnt and it was found that there was a large amount of plastic material inside. Also, two neighbouring buildings were damaged to some extent. The exact cause of the fire could not be ascertained. A total of 10 fire engines, some private water tankers, and JCBs were used by Pune and PMRDA fire brigades.

 

Gajanan Pathrudkar, Prabhakar Umratkar, Prakash Gore, Tandel Pandurang Tambe, Nitin Mokashi Sanju Chavan, and other jawans ensured the fire was subdued.
