Pune: Burglary For Wife, Goods Worth Rs 37 Lakh Seized From Accused
Kondhwa, 11th January 2023: A young man’s daring burglary in an attempt to get a new house for his wife after being kicked out by his family for having an inter-caste love marriage has come to light. Unit 5 of the crime branch has solved the theft in Nyati Victoria Elite Society in Kondhwa. Rs 37.30 lakh has been seized from the accused.
Mallappa Sahebanna Hosmani (30), a resident of Ambegaon Budruk, Katraj, is the name of the arrested.
The complainant had gone to church to celebrate Christmas with his family. At that time, the thief had broken the lock of his house and stolen goods worth Rs 37 lakh. The thief stole gold and silver jewellery, diamond necklaces, and precious watches.
All the senior officials visited the crime scene and gave instructions to speed up the investigation. While investigating the crime, the team checked the criminals on record in the Kondhwa area and searched the entire area. The vehicles were checked on CCTV footage.
While investigating the vehicle, the suspect was seen riding a two-wheeler, going toward the rear of the society, and going back again. By extracting the information from the specific sticker on the Jupiter vehicle, it was reported that the vehicle belonged to Hosmani.
It was found that he had previous cases of vehicle theft in Loni Kalbhor, Chandannagar, and Hinjewadi police stations. When the team detained him in the Katraj area, he confessed to the burglary.
