Pune: Builder Arrested By Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Cheating Housing Societies

Pimpri, 9th January 2023: Developer Rajiv Bhale was arrested in a case filed in 2019 for selling 76 acres of Gairan land on the pretext of constructing two housing societies. This was the site of Devasthan Trust on both sides of the road leading from Kalewadi Phata to Kaspete Vasti. The fraud is pegged at nearly Rs 43 crore.

The arrested developer has been identified as Rajiv Yashwant Bhale (67), a resident of Apte Road, Deccan, and Wakad. A case was registered in the Wakad police station for defrauding the members of two co-operative housing societies namely Ishan and Ankit up to Rs 43,26,32,570. The said incident happened from 1st April 2001 to 31st March 2013. The incident was revealed during the audit.

Auditor Rajesh Sudam Bhujbal (52) has filed a complaint at Wakad police station in this matter. A case of fraud has been registered against five persons namely Rajiv Yashwant Bhale, Suhas Bhalchandra Gosavi, a resident of Aundh, Anjali Shashank Nivsarkar, a resident of Aundh, Bhalchandra Chintaman Dev, a resident of Wakad, Ishwar Khushaldas Punjabi, a resident of Lakshmi Road, Pune.

According to the information given by the police, all the five accused, who were working as office bearers of two cooperative housing societies namely Ishan and Ankita in Wakad, conspired with each other and gained the trust of the housing society and plot holder members and embezzled crores of rupees.

Bhale’s accomplice Suhas Bhalchandra Gosavi was also to be arrested. However, due to a deterioration of health, he has been admitted to the Sassoon hospital for treatment.

The economic offences wing (EOW) of Pimpri Chinchwad police Crime Branch has taken this action.
