Pune: 116 NCC Cadets From Maharashtra Directorate To Participate In Republic Day Camp
Pune, 29th December 2022: The Maharashtra Directorate NCC Contingent, the Champion Directorate for the Republic Day Camp for the year 2022 was flagged off by Brig Arjun Mitra, Group Cdr, NCC Gp HQ, Pune after the closing address today for its participation in Republic Day 2023.
The Contingent comprises 116 cadets with 84 cadets of Army, 16 cadets of Navy and 16 cadets of Air Force on Pro-rata basis, who toiled for the last two months in the Pre–Republic Day Camp held at NCC Group HQ, Pune.
The Republic Day camp will be inaugurated by the Vice President of India in the first week of Jan 2023 and will culminate with the Prime Minister‘s Rally on 27 Jan 2023.
In the month-long camp the cadets participate in various competitions like Drill, Rajpath Marching, Guard of Honour of PM, PM’s Rally, Line layout, Flag Area Briefing and Cultural Event. The consistent excellent performance of the Contingent throughout the camp in all events in Republic Day Camp 2022 saw the NCC Directorate Maharashtra being adjugated the Best Directorate. In PM’s Rally held at Cariappa Parade Ground, New Delhi on 28 Jan 2022, PM Narendra Modi presented the prestigious PM Banner to Maj Gen Y P Khanduri, ADG, NCC Directorate Maharashtra. SUO Diddesh Jadhav was the Banner Bearer and Cadet Capt Nikita Khot was the Trophy bearer.
