SFA Championship Pune: Majestic Mohil clinches hat-trick of medals in table tennis on Day 3

Pune, December 13, 2022: Mohil Thakur of CM International School produced stunning performances to dominate proceedings and clinched three medals in table tennis on the third day of the Sports For All (SFA) Championships in Pune on Tuesday.

 

Competing in the singles category, the young paddler won the gold medal in the boys U-10 and secured silver and bronze in the U-12 and U-15 categories respectively.

 

Showcasing amazing consistency, Mohil started the day with the gold medal after beating Vardaan Kolte of Educon International School 4-0 in the U-10 final. Yuvan Gawali of Aaryan’s World School and Elvis Tom of Euro School won the bronze medals.

 

Mohil, however, signed off with a silver in the U-12 category as he lost to Anant Karampuri of SNBP International School in the finals by 0-4. He then lost in the U-15 semi-finals, securing his third medal of the day.

 

In the girls singles matches, Shrinika Umekar of Blue Ridge School claimed two medals in the U-10 and U-12 age categories. She secured gold in the U-12 category by prevailing against Dhriti Manchharamani of PICT Model School in the finals as Kavya Harke of CM International School won the bronze. In the U-10 event, Shrinika obtained bronze with Sharanya Pradhan of Podar International School and Spruha Borgaonkar of Symbiosis School winning gold and silver respectively.

 

India’s leading fully integrated digital plus on-ground multi-sport platform, Sports For All has been organising the first edition of this Olympic-style championship in Pune from December 11 to 17 with 11 sports being played at five venues.

 

The exciting tournament boasts an overall prize pool of close to ₹3 lakh and has been witnessing a total participation of 8,200 from more than 500 schools across Pune.

 

Meanwhile in the U-11 final of badminton, Hridaan Padve of Dr Kalmadi High School won gold in the boys section while Aaradhya Dhere of Vidya Valley School obtained gold in the girls category. Aaradhya’s schoolmate Tanishq Ade clinched the title in the U-13 boys category.
