Pune: 400 Bottles Of Liquor Seized From Pune-Ernakulam Express By RPF

Pune, 10th December 2022: Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel found 400 bottles of various brands of liquor on the Pune-Ernakulam Express. These bottles have been seized, and two have been detained in this regard. It has often come to light that unauthorised transportation of various goods is carried out by railways.

 

A similar incident happened on Thursday (December 8). A train from Ernakulam in the south reached Pune (Pune-Ernakulam Express). As many as 400 bottles of liquor were being brought to Pune from this train.

 

On receiving information about the said incident, RPF officials laid a trap at around 7.00 am on Thursday, nabbed the suspects, and searched their four heavy bags. Officers found these 400 bottles in it. All these goods were worth Rs 1,08,465.

 

In this case, one woman and one man were caught by RPF officials along with the goods. Under the guidance of Pune Inspector of Railway Security Force BS Raghuvanshi, ASI Ashok Chandulkar, Guard BM Bagul, Yuvraj Gaikwad, Vishal Mane, Sayyid Rasool carried out the said operation.

 

RPF found a bag in Pune-Nagpur Express last week. It contained jewellery worth Rs 4.50 lakh. There was also a laptop with it. These items have been verified by the RPF officials and returned to the concerned passenger.
