Pune: Teacher Booked For Hitting Six-Year-old Boy For Bad Handwriting

Pune, 5th December 2022: A teacher from a government-school in Pune was booked by Pune city police for allegedly hitting a six-year-old student for “bad handwriting.

 

The FIR registered by Wanowrie police station stated that she had threatened to keep the boy from telling his parents about the physical punishment.

 

Based on a complaint made by the 35-year-old father of the Class 1 boy, a case has been filed against the teacher for intentional insult and intimidation, among other charges, under the Indian Penal Code. Although the incident happened on 20th October, the father didn’t contact the police until after the boy told his family members about it.

 

The 35-year-old teacher allegedly struck the boy with her hand for having sloppy handwriting and threatened to beat him up if he told his family about it.
