Pune: Accident At Kalpataru Jade Construction Site In Baner, Worker Dies After Falling From 14th Floor

Baner, 2nd December 2022: A worker, who was working on the installation of tiled flooring in an open balcony on the 14th floor of the construction site of the luxury building ‘Kalpataru Jade’ on Pancard Club Road in Baner, fell and succumbed to severe injuries and reportedly died. This incident took place on Wednesday (November 30) around 12.30 pm. Chaturshringi police have registered a case of culpable homicide in this regard.

 

The deceased worker has been identified as Sham Nema Ravidas (22). In this regard, a case has been registered against four persons – contractor Lajjaram Gujar, supervisor Ram Kes Gujar, safety officer Ravi Gawande and Ajinkya of Raj Enterprises. Devendra Kumar Nema Ravidas (28), a resident of Narhe, filed the complaint.

According to the information given by the police, the accused contractor employed the complainant Devendra Kumar and his brother Sham. Sham lost his balance and fell from the 14th floor while he was working on the tiling of the balcony.

 

The accused contractor, along with the supervisor and safety officer, had not provided any measures and tools for the safety of the workers. They were required to provide safety belts, safety net helmets, and other types of equipment.

 

 

The police have registered a case against all these accused persons after concluding that they were at fault for the death of Sham.
