Pune: Action And Fine Imposed Against Illegal Hoarding Owners
Pune, 2nd December 2022: The attractiveness and cleanliness of the city, as well as enhancing the perception of the nation, have been given top priority in light of the G-20 meeting. According to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), 136 illegal hoardings were removed in November. In addition, 38 attributes are associated to recover the fine.
The municipal commissioner has recommended a fee of Rs 1,000 per advertisement to prevent vandalism in the city and stop unauthorised advertisements. Additionally, a complaint will be filed against those responsible for illegal hoardings.
The city has 1,991 unauthorised banners, and the sky and sign department has started a campaign to remove them.
Additional municipal commissioner Kunal Khemnar reported that 136 illegal hoardings were taken down this month by the sky and sign department. The PMC dismantled 268 hoardings in 2019. This year, the PMC has already taken action on 372 hoardings.
The civic body issues notices to hoarding businesses or owners of illegal advertisements, requesting that they obtain permission by paying fees; if they fail to do so, the advertisements are removed. In addition, a fee of Rs 5,000 is collected for disposal costs.
