Pune: Gaur Dies At Katraj Zoological Park
Pune, 2nd December 2022: A gaur (Indian Bison) at the Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park in Katraj died on Thursday. The gaur’s condition was critical for the past few days. The bison died at the age of 15. Now, the number of gaurs in the Zoological Park has come to two.
The gaur from the Rajiv Gandhi Zoo in Katraj was brought when it was five years old. For the past few days, its health was deteriorating rapidly. The weight of the gaur suddenly decreased. Treatment began under the supervision of veterinary officers. However, the gaur did not respond to the treatment, informed Rajkumar Jadhav, head of the zoo.
The Zoological Park brought two gaurs from Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala a few days ago. So the number of gaurs in the Park increased to three. Now, with the death of this gaur, the number of gaurs in the Park has decreased to two.
