Pune: 300 Cadets Graduate From National Defence Academy

Khadakwasla, 30th November 2022: The National Defence Academy (NDA) is the country’s premier Joint Services Training Institution which is the ‘Cradle of Military Leadership’. The 143rd Course was inducted in the December 2019 and today after completion of three years of rigorous military training the cadets passed out in a ceremonial event.

 

The Passing Out Parade of 143rd Course was conducted at Khetarpal Parade Ground, NDA, Khadakwasla on 30 Nov 2022. Admiral R Hari Kumar, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC, Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) reviewed the parade.

 

 

A total of 1065 cadets participated in the parade of which 300 cadets were from the passing out course. This included 207 Army cadets, 39 Naval cadets and 54 Air Force cadets including 19 cadets from Friendly Foreign Countries (Bhutan, Tajikistan, Maldives, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Sudan, Mongolia and Bangladesh). The cadets will hereafter join their respective Pre-Commissioning Training Academics.

 

Battalion Cadet Captain Gaurav Yadav won the President’s Gold Medal for standing first in the overall order of merit. Academy Cadet Adjutant Sourav Sharma won the President’s Silver Medal for standing second in the overall order of merit and Cadet Quarter Master Sergeant Vivek won the President’s Bronze Medal for standing third in the overall order of merit. Kilo Squadron bagged the prestigious ‘Chiefs of Staff Banner’, for being the Champion Squadron which was presented during the parade.

 

The Reviewing Officer congratulated the passing out course cadets, medal winners and the Champion Squadron for their hard work and overwhelming performance during their training at NDA. He conveyed his sincere gratitude to the proud parents of the passing out course for sending their motivated wards to join the Armed Forces. He highlighted the aspects of modernisation and emerging domains of warfare filled with uncertainties and complexities which lies ahead of these young military leaders and urged them to give their best in fulfilling duty towards the nation.
