Pune: Deccan College To Hold Workshop On Heritage Documentation On This Weekend

Pune, 25th November 2022: The Deccan College Post-Graduate and Research Institute (Deemed University), Yerwada, Pune, is organising one-day workshops on Heritage Documentation and the Application of LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) in Cultural Heritage Investigations. The workshop is organized in the Department of AIHC and Archaeology, Deccan College, Pune, 26th and 27th of November. Registration is free for both workshops.

 

The last date for registration is 25th November, Friday, for a limited 60 seats. The workshop is set to begin at 10:30 AM.

 

“Documentation of cultural heritage is the most fundamental task of conservation. Documentation that arises from this process is the starting point for all other tasks and procedures involved in the safeguarding of cultural heritage. Thoroughly and expertly documented architectural heritage is indispensable in the process of successful protection and quality presentation of immovable cultural heritage, while the principal objective of documenting material heritage has remained essentially unchanged in the century of conservation activities have been significant changes in documentation procedures as well as possibilities offered by the collected documentation. After knowing the fundamental importance of this aspect in heritage, the present workshop is designed more on a practical basis,” the official brochure describes.

 

Manager Singh and Yogesh Kasar Patil have been invited as keynote addressers. They will be holding discussions on Documentation methodology for Heritages and the Importance of Art and Architecture Conservation, respectively.
