Pune: Excise Department Seizes Goods, Including Foreign Liquor, Worth Rs One Crore
Pune, 23rd November 2022: In the action taken by the Maharashtra State Excise Department, Talegaon division team, a total of goods worth Rs 1,05,7,520, including Goa state-manufactured foreign liquor worth Rs 87,89,520, have been seized.
A trap was laid, and action was taken on the old Pune-Mumbai highway, in front of Hotel Shantai Road. Truck number MH46F-6138 was carrying stock of foreign liquor manufactured by Goa and sold only within the limits of the state.
1,267 boxes of foreign liquor, including 4,164 sealed bottles of real whiskey (750 ml), 5,760 sealed bottles of 180 ml real whiskey, and 9,600 sealed bottles of royal blue whiskey (750 ml), were seized from this truck.
Superintendent State Excise Charan Singh Rajput has informed that a case has been registered against driver Praveen Parameshwar Pawar (24) and Devidas Vikas Bhosale (29).
