Lonavla, 17th November 2022: The driver of an Eicher Tempo travelling from Pune to Mumbai fell into a chamber in the middle of the road. The incident took place on Tuesday (November 15) night when the driver ran out of diesel when he reached Km 42.400. His phone battery ran out while he was contacting because the tempo stopped.

Meanwhile, there was a truck going to Pune in the opposite direction, and the driver went to charge his mobile phone in that truck. At that time, he did not notice the chamber in the middle of the road, and suddenly he fell into that chamber.

The chamber was 40 feet deep. When he started screaming in fear due to a sudden fall, the driver of the vehicle on the other side heard the sound and realised that he had fallen into the chamber.

The driver promptly called the police helpline. After receiving the information from the police helpline, Borghat Traffic Police, Devdoot team, IRB Patrolling, Lokmanya Hospital, Mrutyunjay Devdoot, Khopoli Police and team members of social organisations reached the spot to help the accident victim.

As the Devdoot team went down and guessed that the driver was seriously injured, they roped him onto the stretcher, and then they all lifted the driver out of the deep chamber.

Due to the fall from such a height, the driver is likely to have suffered major fractures in his arms, legs and waist and was shifted to JJ Hospital Mumbai for further treatment. Assistant Police Inspector Harish Kalsekar is taking further action in this accident.
