Sports For All conducts conclaveof school coaches & PETs ahead of first-ever Championships in Pune

Pune, November 10, 2022: India’s leading multi-sports platform, Sports For All (SFA) brought together 81 coaches and PETs from 37 schools across the city in a conclave as Pune gears up to host first-ever SFA Championships, scheduled from December 1 to 15.

SFA has been an integral part of sports empowerment at the grassroots level since its inception in 2015. It has revolutionised sports in India by introducing an Olympic-style sports championships. The conclave revolved around cherishing coaches for their valuable contributions to sports. Coaches from schools like Loyola School, Sinhgad School, Educon International School, Vibgyor High School, Indira National School, Dhruv Global School and many more took part in the discussion.

“We are extremely excited to host the very first SFA Championships in Pune and all of the city’s prominent coaches gave their valuable insights regarding the participation of kids in the Championships. Pune has a lot of sporting talent and this event aims to provide them a much-needed platform. The conclave was another step in the positive direction of fulfilling our vision of assembling a national community of coaches that will benefit the sporting landscape of the country,” said Samera Khan, Chief Marketing Officer, Sports For All.

Talking about the significance of the event Milind Kshirsagar, HOD Sports at Loyola School and Vice President of Physical Education Teachers Association Of Maharashtra said, “This is a really very good initiative taken by the SFA for the coaches. SFA have started a great journey and we are eagerly looking forward to the first such championships in the city”

SFA is also the official partner of the Indian Team for the Olympics, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games. It aims to create an intrinsic approach to introduce and engage coaches with the latest sports coaching methodologies, helping them become a catalyst in motivating more and more children to take up sports.

SFA Championships provides all-important opportunities for school children to compete in state-of-the-art sporting arenas with a professional set-up. More than 1,50,000 athletes from 3000-plus schools have participated so far in the previous 10 editions of the championships, competing across more than 40sports.

The prestigious tournament has also been graced by the presence of India’s sporting heroes in the past, including Harbhajan Singh, Saina Nehwal, Somdev Devvarman, Zaheer Khan and Abhinav Bindra.

Having successfully conducted the championships in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Dehradun, SFA now moves to Pune with a plethora of opportunities for city’s kids. The registration for the championships is open until November 25.
