Rohit Sharma has become the captain to win most T20I matches in a calendar year, breaking Babar Azam’s world record. This was Rohit Sharma’s 21st win in the shortest format of cricket this year against Zimbabwe, while Babar Azam made this record last year by winning 20 matches.
Under the captaincy of Babar Azam, Pakistan won a record 20 T20 matches in the year 2021, but now their record has been broken by Indian captain Rohit Sharma. After winning four matches in the T20 World Cup, Rohit Sharma has 21 wins. In this tournament, he came with 17 wins. Apart from Rohit and Babar, the third name in this list is former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. India won 15 matches in 2016 under Dhoni’s captaincy.
