Pune: Two Persons Dead In Accident Mumbai-Pune Highway In Khandala Ghat

Pune, 6th November 2022: A rickshaw driver lost control on the downhill at Khandala Ghat on the Mumbai-Pune highway, and the rickshaw hit the bus. Three people, including the rickshaw driver, were injured in the accident.

 

The names of the deceased are Kumar Gaurav Gautam (26) and Shatrunjay Tripathi (27). Rickshaw drivers Kiran Waghmare, Raghavendra Rathore, and Saurabh Pathak were injured in the accident. Rathore and Pathak are railway employees who were injured in the accident. Both are loco pilots.

 

 

Gautam, Tripathi, Rathore, and Pathak went to Wet and Joy Water Park in Lonavala. Four people were going to Khopoli railway station in a rickshaw around 11 in the morning on Sunday. On the old Mumbai-Pune highway at Khandala Ghat in the Saimal area, the rickshaw driver lost control of the rickshaw and rammed into the oncoming passenger bus. Gautam and Tripathi were seriously injured when the rickshaw overturned. Both died during treatment.

 

As soon as the information about the accident was received, Assistant Inspector Harish Kalsekar of Khopoli Police Station and volunteers from this organization reached the spot to help the accident victims. Sub-Inspector Anil Shinde of Highway Police and jawans of Delta Force made the traffic smooth. The injured were immediately admitted to a hospital in Khopoli. Traffic was disrupted for some time after the accident.
