Pune: Cyber ​​Thief Extorts Rs 6.5 Lakhs From Woman On Lure Of Sending Gifts From Abroad

Hadapsar, 1st October 2022: It has come to light that a woman was cheated of Rs 6.5 lakh by a cyber thief on the lure sending gifts from abroad. A woman has filed a complaint at Hadapsar police station.

 

The complainant woman received a friend request from a stranger a few months ago. The woman accepted the friend request without checking. After that, their communication started. The thief pretended to be a high-ranking officer in a private company abroad. He lured the woman stating that he will send expensive gifts from abroad.

 

 

Then a woman named Neha Sharma contacted the mobile number of the complainant woman saying that gift boxes (parcels) sent from abroad have been seized by the Customs Department at the airport. Sharma told the woman that some amount has to be paid immediately. After that, the woman promptly deposited the money in a bank account.

 

After that again the accused took money from the woman giving various reasons. After realizing the fraud, the woman rushed to the Hadapsar police station.
