New Expressway To Connect Pune-Mumbai-Bengaluru Within Seven Hours
Pune, 28th October 2022: Bengaluru will get another expressway, bringing it closer to two major cities in neighbouring Maharashtra – Mumbai and Pune – and cutting travel time between the three to seven hours. The highway, which would be 699 kilometres long, is expected to cost around Rs 50,000 crores.
The project also includes nine Karnataka districts and three Maharashtra districts – Bengaluru Rural, Belagavi, Bagalkot, Gadag, Koppal, Vijayanagara (Ballari), Davanagere, Chitradurga, Tumakuru, Pune, Satara, and Sangli are among them. The project is expected to boost commercial activity by allowing businesses to locate along the route due to reduced traffic. A 15-metre median for future expansion, 55 flyovers, tree planting on both sides of the road, and other extensive infrastructure is also planned.
Attempting to improve roadways that serve as traffic conduits not only for traffic from Mumbai but also for traffic from Gujarat, Nashik, and Pune, in addition to Satara and Kolhapur, would improve commercial operations. The highway will also be aesthetically pleasing, crossing the Krishna, Tungabhadra, and many other rivers.
