Sunrise V V Natu Memorial All-India Ranking Badminton Tournament

Pune, 16 October 2022: Raghu Marisamy and Malvika Bansod have been top seeded in the Men’s and women’s categories respectively in the Sunrise V V Natu Memorial all-India ranking Badminton tournament starting here at the PDMBA modern Sports Complex on Monday.

 

As many as 1786 shuttlers will be seen in action in different categories in the tournament, which carries prize money of Rs five lakh.

 

“we have first round the tournament on October 17 with the finals scheduled for October 23,” informed Ranjit Natu, secretary of the Pune District and Metropolitan Badminton Association (PDMBA).

 

Given that the organisers have received record entries the PDMBA has decided to use 20 courts for the initial rounds—eight courts at Modern Complex, six at PYC Hindu Gymkhana, two courts of Laxmi Krida Mandir, four of the College of Engineering ,Pune.

 

Organising secretary of the tournament, Rajiv Bag said that since this tournament could not be conducted for the last two years due to Covid pandemic, the event has received such an overwhelming response.
