Pune: One Arrested For Stealing Jewellery Worth Nearly Rs Three Crore; Vishrambaug Police Arrested Three Accused Earlier In Same Case

Pune, 14th October 2022: Another person has been arrested by Vishrambaug police for stealing gold and diamond jewellery worth Rs 2.30 crores. The court kept the accused in police custody till October 15.

 

The arrested accused has been identified as Chaganlal alias Bhalchandra Bhagwanchand Jain (52), a resident of Market Yard, and a native of Rajasthan. Mahendra Singh Mafat Singh Vaghela (26), a resident of Hadapsar, Trupti Hukmichand Khandelwal (35), a resident of Sadashiv Peth and Uttam Arun Ghosh (39), a resident of Sadashiv Peth, a native of West Bengal were earlier arrested in this case.

 

All these accused are in judicial custody. Public prosecutor Varsharani Jadhav demanded that the accused be given police custody for further investigation of the crime. Rathod Jewelers on Lakshmi Road was robbed on October 2. Sanjay Pukhraj Rathod (52), a resident of Mukund Nagar filed a complaint in this regard.

 

Vaghela and Khandelwal stole the jewellery worth Rs 2,30,65,000. They conducted the theft in phases. One by one they stole the jewellery and waited for the shop to close. As soon the shop closed, they passed the jewellery to Ghosh so that he can melt the gold.
