Pune, 30th September 2022: A proposal has been made by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) demanding that the state government should provide funds of Rs 200 crores for the Katraj-Kondhwa road, which is stalled due to lack of land acquisition. This proposal will be sent to the state government in the next few days.

An amount of Rs 700 crore is currently required for land acquisition for Katraj-Kondhwa road. The road work is stalled due to a lack of funds. While sanctioning the widening of these roads, the width of the road was proposed to be 84 meters, but now the width of the road will be made of 50 meters. Therefore, the land acquisition for the road will also have to be reduced and the expenditure of Rs 277 crores is expected for this.

A proposal has been made by the municipal administration that the state government should give a fund of Rs 200 crores to the PMC. Such a proposal has been prepared by the Land Acquisition Department and after the approval of Municipal Commissioner, Administrator Vikram Kumar, it will be sent to the state government.

Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar inspected the Katraj-Kondhwa road a few days ago. Road work is currently closed due to the non-acquisition of land. The project affected is demanding cash for land acquisition. Therefore, if the width of the road is reduced, along with land acquisition, funds will also be required.

Rs 150 crores have been provided in the budget for this road. Almost Rs 50 crores worth of work has been completed from the funds available in the budget. Although the width of the road will be reduced, it will be a six-lane road. It is also proposed to make service roads on the side of the road.
