Pune: School Student Drowns On Trip To Sinhgad Fort
Pune, 18th September 2022: A class 12th student today drowned in the elephant tank on Sinhgad Fort during a trip organised by his school.
The deceased has been identified as Shahid Mulla. He studied at Priyadarshini School in Mulshi taluka. A group of 60 students had gone to the historic fort for a picnic today.
According to officials, the area has become slippery due to rain. Shahid’s foot slipped on the moss and he fell into the tank. The teachers quickly reported the incident.
After that, Amol Pader, Vitthal Pader, Akash Bandal, Vikas Jorkar, Tushar Dimble, Pawan Jorkar, Suraj Shivtare conducted a search operation in the water body and pulled out Shahid. He was immediately admitted to the hospital. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival. His body has been sent for post-mortem.
Due to the incident, fellow students, as well as teachers, were shocked. Haveli police station officials visited the incident site and inspected it.
