Pune: Autorickshaw Fares To Increase By Rs 4 From September 1

Pune, 27 August 2022: Due to the demands made by the autorickshaw, the Regional Transport Authority today issued an order regarding the increase in fares. Accordingly, it was announced that the rickshaw drivers will now increase the fare by four rupees.

Due to this decision, the rickshaw drivers are happy. This fare hike will come into force from September 1 in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad and Baramati, and the passengers will be charged Rs 25 for the first one kilometer stage and after that 17 rupees will be charged for every next kilometer.

Earlier, passengers were charged Rs 21 for the first one kilometer and Rs 14 for every kilometer thereafter. Meanwhile, from September 1, the fare revision will be applicable for the same autorickshaw owners who will get their meters re-certified. The deadline for meter re-validation is 31st October.

Autorickshaw owners who do not get meter re-validated within the prescribed period will be subject to license suspension for 1 to 40 days or a fine of at least 2 to 50 thousand rupees.
