Pune: After Transfer Of Rajesh Patil, No Takers For Compulsory Uniforms In PCMC

Pimpri, 24th August 2022: On the lines of Surat Municipal Corporation, the previous Commissioner Rajesh Patil had announced to make a specific uniform (dress code) mandatory for Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) officers and employees.

However, as soon as Patil was transferred, the compulsory order of uniforms became a thing of the past. A delegation of PCMC had recently visited Gujarat, during which everyone was impressed to see that the officers and employees of Surat Municipal Corporation had special uniforms.

After returning from the tour, it was decided to make the uniform compulsory in the PCMC. Commissioner Patil had also issued such an order. This uniform was made compulsory for everyone from 15th August. However, that day was a public holiday. The next day, on 16th August, Rajesh Patil was transferred in the afternoon.

No one wore the new uniforms as per orders given by Patil before the transfer. After the commissioner was transferred, the officers and employees did not take the matter seriously. Everyone’s attention has been drawn to seeing what role the new commissioner Shekhar Singh will play regarding the uniforms.
