Pune: Vikram Gokhale And Yashwant Gaikwad Donate Two Acre Land For Artists’ Retirement Home

Pune 23rd August 2022: Veteran actor Vikram Gokhale and his nephew Yashwant Gaikwad have donated two acres of land to the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Film Corporation, intending to give artists a rightful place in their retirement.

An old-age home and an open stage for performances by artists will be constructed in this space at Nane village in Mulshi taluka of Pune distritc in Maharashtra.

The transaction of this land in Nane village was completed in the Sub-Registrar’s office recently. Gokhale handed over his documents to Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Film Corporation President Meghraj Rajebhosale on Monday. Former president of the corporation and critic Ramdas Futane, director-actor Praveen Tarde, and Vice President of Film Sena of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena Ramesh Pardeshi were present. Gokhale and Gaikwad were felicitated to appreciate their commendable decision for artists.

Twenty-five rupees out of a hundred rupees are kept aside, thinking that it is not ours, and helps the needy through the Kamalabai Gokhale Public Charitable Trust.

“I saw the pain and inconvenience of the artists during the Corona period. That’s why I decided to give the land to the artists after realizing that they should have a rightful place, ” Vikram Gokhale said.
