Rains To Increase In Pune From Tonight, Avoid Visiting Ghat Areas: IMD

Pune, 20th August 2022: From today evening, rains in Maharashtra as well as Pune district has increased.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), forecast for Pune city is generally cloudy sky/overcast, mostly light rain expected with chance of moderate rain in isolated places very likely.

Dr Anupam Kashyapi, Head, Weather & Air Pollution Monitoring Unit, IMD said, “There is orange alert for adjacent ghat areas due to isolated heavy to very heavy rain possibility for the next two days. People should avoid going to the ghat areas.”

He added, “There will be reduction in rainfall activity from 23rd August onward with generally cloudy sky, very light to light rain in coming days.”
