Pune police files case against technician for streaming porn on digital ad board
Pune : Two days after an advertisement board on Karve Road drew attraction and led to traffic jam for some time after it started showing a porn website, Pune city police have booked a technician of the publicity company.
The FIR has been registered with Deccan Gymkhana police station based on a complaint lodged by head constable Santosh Jagtap.
The accused technician Nitesh Shelar worked with L 1 Publicity company.
The company has put up an electronic advertisement board at Nal Stop on Karve Road. The board displays various ads.
However between 3 pm to 3.30 pm on August 24 it started showing a porn website showing obscene videos. The incident brought traffic to halt on the busy road.
Police registered the case on its own as porn content was being shown in public place. The technician has been charged under section 67 of the Information Technology Act.
The incident had come to light when a woman from Mumbai uploaded photo of the advertisement board showing porn, on micro blogging site Twitter.
