Pune: Under ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Initiative’, PMC To Provide Tricolour Flags To CItizens At An Affordable Price

Pune, 27th July 2022: A total of five lakh tricolour flags will be made available to the public at affordable prices in civic ward offices throughout the city. This initiative is a part of the Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) public awareness campaign under the Union government’s “Har Ghar Tiranga (tricolour on each house)” initiative. This is a part of the celebration of 75 years of India’s Independence.

The PMC has planned to spend Rs 1.25 crore to buy tricolour cloth measuring 30 inches by 20 inches. According to officials, they would be stored for sale at ward offices and other public buildings and will be made available to citizens for less than Rs 30.

The civic body will place 50 flex boards and 100 posters throughout the city as part of its public awareness drive. In addition, jingles, videos, and radio commercials will also be played.

On August 15, the PMC will also host a bicycle rally in the city. It has asked residents to take part in the rally, for which the civic organisation would provide them T-shirts. On the PMC website, participants have been asked to register for the cycle rally.
