Pune: Doctor And Staff Booked After Death Of Psychiatric Patient
Pune, 16th July 2022: A case has been registered against a doctor and the hospital staff after the death of a mentally ill youth after falling from a building.
The case has been registered against the director of Jagruti Psychiatric Center Dr Amar Shinde and the staff of the treatment centre.
In this regard, Savita Satpute (39), a resident of Kalepadal, lodged the complaint with Hadapsar police station. Satpute’s son Aditya Rajendra Satpute (18) was undergoing treatment at Jagruti Psychiatric Center in Manjar area.
On October 1, 2021, Aditya died after falling from the terrace of the treatment centre.
Niranjan Pandit, an employee of the treatment centre, beat up Aditya because he was calling his home. Aditya’s mother Savita Satpute has said in the complaint that Aditya died after falling from the roof of the building due to the negligence of the staff.
Police Inspector Vishwas Dagale is investigating the case further.
