Tokyo, 8th July 2022: Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was shot on Friday in the city of Nara. At the time of the incident, Abe was giving a speech about the elections to be held on Sunday. The speech of the former PM was being telecasted live. Several videos of the attack on Abe have surfaced.

 

The video released by AHK is one of the earliest footage of the incident. It is seen that the attacker comes from behind Abe. However, the attacker is not visible in this video. After firing, smoke spreads in the surrounding area, making things very hazy.

In another footage, Abe can be seen falling on the road and several security personnel are seen running towards him. When Abe fell to the ground, he placed his hand on his chest and blood was seen on his shirt.

 

Smoke spread after Firing

A woman at the scene said, “The assailant came from behind Abe and fired at him. The sound of the first firing sounded like a toy. The sound of the second shot was much louder. There was a lot of smoke and there was panic among the people. People took Abe home and he was given cardiac massage. After that he was taken to the hospital.”

 

Abe suffered a heart attack after being shot

A man has been arrested for attempting to murder the former prime minister. A gun has been recovered from him. Abe is reported to have suffered a heart attack after being shot. Doctors are engaged in the treatment of former PM Abe. At present, Abe’s condition remains critical.
