Pune: Man Arrested for Sexually Abusing 15-Year-Old Girl After Befriending Her On Instagram

Katraj, 5th July 2022: A 15-year-old girl was first befriended on social media and then she was raped by her “Friend”.

A case has been registered against accused the accused for offences under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at the Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station. The victim’s mother has filed a complaint in this regard.

According to police, the accused had befriended the school girl on Instagram and lured her into a love trap promising to marry her. Later, he took the girl to the terrace of a housing project and sexually abused her. The incident came to light when the girl was found to be pregnant.

Sub-Inspector Varsha Ghogare is further investigating the case.
