Pune, 19th June 2022: The sleuths from the Crime Branch Unit 2 of Pune city police have arrested a Mathadi worker who was wanted in a land grabbing case involving an ex-BJP corporator.
An FIR in the case was registered at Swargate police station yesterday against former corporator Vishnu Appa Harihar, Rahul Dattaram Khude, a resident of Gultekdi; Prem Sham Kshirsagar and Sachin Prakash Mayane. While other accused were arrested Mayane was on the run.
Head Constable Mohsin Shaikh of Crime Branch Unit 2 received information that Mayane would reach Dhobi Ghat area on Shankarsheth Road. Accordingly, a trap was laid under the guidance of Police Inspector Krantikumar Patil. A team led by API Vishal Mohite nabbed Mayane (45), a resident of Dhayari.
According to police, the accused persons were threatening a man to sell his land at Yewalewadi at a low price and also attacked him in the past.
