Pune: Over 36,0000 People Without Tickets In May; Railways Recover Rs 2.51 Crore Fine

Pune, 3rd June 2022: A total of 36, 390 people were found travelling without tickets during the ticket checking on Pune Railway Division in May. A fine of Rs 2 crore 50 lakh 39 thousand was collected from them.

A fine of Rs 32 thousand has been recovered from 286 people for carrying unbooked goods. In May, an amount of Rs.2 crore 51 lakh 16 thousand was recovered as a fine. This is considered as the best performance ever which was collected in any one month.

The above action was taken under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Renu Sharma and in coordination with Additional Divisional Railway Manager Brijesh Kumar Singh and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Dr Milind Hirve along with the help of ticket checking inspectors and Railway Protection Force.

 

According to the Divisional Railway Manager Office, this type of ticket checking is being run regularly by the railway administration. Passengers are requested to travel only with proper tickets. Presently only passengers with confirmed tickets are allowed to travel, so they should carry proper tickets. Otherwise, they will have to pay a fine under the Railway Act and in case of non-payment, they can also be jailed.
