Pune: To Stop Intrusion Of Private Vehicles In BRT Lanes, Boom Barriers Will Be Installed
Pune, 28th May 2022: Automatic boom barrier (automatic gate) has been installed at 10 more places to prevent intrusion of private vehicles on the BRT route.
Dattatraya Zende, Transport Manager, Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML), informed that it has been installed in ten places in Pimpri-Chinchwad city and two places in Pune city on an experimental basis.

The PMPML had first tested the “Boom Barrier” at Jagtap Dairy Chowk in Pimpri on April 15. The second test was conducted at Deccan College Chowk after the first test was successful.
“After the success of both these tests, the experiment will take place in a few more places. ‘Boom barriers’ have been installed on an experimental basis in ten places. The process of issuing tenders for installation of this system in the remaining places is underway. This process will be completed soon and boom barriers will be installed in the remaining places,” informed Zende.
