Maharashtra: Night Landing Facility Will Be Started At Shirdi Airport Soon

Shirdi, 18th May 2022: A team of Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) will inspect the night landing facility at Shirdi Airport by the end of May 2022 to start night landing flights.

“Night landing facility will be started from Shirdi as soon as possible after getting permission from DGCA,” said Deepak Kapoor, Managing Director, Maharashtra Airport Development Company.

Kapoor called a meeting of officials at Shirdi Airport to know the various problems and difficulties of the citizens of Shirdi Airport and its vicinity. He inspected the Shirdi Airport, reviewing various issues such as entry and exit facilities, firefighting arrangements, night landing, cargo services, cucumber project victims, cleanliness of the area, etc.

Managing Director Deepak Kapoor said Shirdi Airport is the fastest growing airport in the country. So far 2 lakh kg of goods has been exported from Shirdi. The cargo is regularly shipping vegetables, flowers and fruits to Bangalore, Chennai and Delhi. A cargo hub will be constructed through Maharashtra Airport Development Company at a cost of Rs 20 crore to start this facility on a large scale.

After a thorough discussion with the representatives of the project affected people in Kakadi village, it was ordered to issue a tender as soon as possible for the complete repair of the water tank. Apart from that, issues of other projects that affected people, roads, schools, and restaurants were discussed.

The difficulties faced by the vendors at the airport were taken into consideration and appropriate decisions were taken in their interest. Deepak Kapoor informed that the concerned authorities have been instructed to take precautionary measures in view of the fire brigade at the airport.

Regarding the waiting room facility at the entry and exit points of Shirdi Airport, Managing Director Kapoor said that the passenger facility in the visitor waiting room was thoroughly inspected.

Director Sushilkumar Srivastava, Terminal Manager Murli Krishna, Civil Engineer Kaustubh Sasane, Chief Financial Officer Sanjay Kanjane, Superintendent. Kulkarni, Ajay Desai, Krishna Shinde and other officers and employees were present.
