Pune : In the direction of making the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) a ragging-free institution, the institute has constituted two teams to curb ragging activities and respond quickly and adequately to such incidents.

In a press statement FTII said, “Each of the two 5-member teams  comprise 3 faculty members, and a male and female student from the senior batches. This is the first time; students have been co-opted into the quick-response anti-ragging teams for a more effective management of such situations”.

Starting 27th July, when new students begin arriving, the teams are mandated to make rounds of various locations in the campus, particularly in the late evening hours and when necessary, in the midnight. They will intervene in ragging situations, and bring such incidences to the notice of the Proctor and Assistant Proctor.

In line with the decisions taken by the Academic Council and Governing Council, FTII has also appointed a Proctor and Asst. Proctor from among the Faculty. They will be responsible for all student-welfare matters, coordination among hostel Wardens, Matron and Caretakers and management of disciplinary issues involving the students.
