Pune, 15th April 2022: After changes in the Maharashtra Land Revenue Rules 1966, there is no need to apply for a non-agriculture (NA) certificate for land within 200 metres of Gaothan (old village areas).

As per a circular issued by the revenue department’s joint secretary Ramesh Chavan, the rule has come into immediate effect across the state.

The local authorities (Tehsildar) have been asked to prepare survey numbers for residential, commercial and industrial zones of the land (except those which have been already converted to NA). The landowners will be sent NA tax and conversion charges notices.
