Pune Rural Police Arrest Gang Members For Looting 1360 Chickens

Shirur/Pune, 6th April 2022: The local crime branch and Shirur police station officials have busted a gang that looted 1360 chickens from a tempo driver.

The arrested persons have been identified as Bhanudas alias Pappu Baban Bodre of Rawadewadi, Yashwant Anil Vetal (23) of Varude, Sagar Arun Temgire (23) of Parodi, Pramod Dilip Chavan (25) of Nimgaon Mhalugi, Ketan Dattatraya Narwade (23) of Khandala, all from Shirur taluka of Pune district, Maharashtra.

The incident took place on March 6 in the Ghodganga factory area in Nhavare. The accused who were traveling in a car intercepted tempo driver Pandit Saware. They beat the driver and decamped with the chickens and tempo.

However, poultry trader Ram Mohammad Siddiqui lodged a complaint against the driver at Shirur police station.

Meanwhile, the local crime branch came to know that Bhanudas Bodre along with his accomplices had stolen chickens. He confessed to stealing the chickens with the help of his accomplices. Police have arrested all the accused and got justice for Saware.

The action was taken under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Dr Abhinav Deshmukh, Additional Superintendent of Police Mitesh Ghatte, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Rajendra Patil, LCB Senior Inspector Ashok Shelke, Inspector Jagtap, PSI  Shivaji Nanvare, and police personnel Shabbir Pathan, Prakash Waghmare, Raju Momin, Chandrakant Jadhav, Amol Shedge, Dhiraj Jadhav, Pran Yeole, Dagdu Virkar and Poonam Gund.
