After Warning To Close Government Accounts, Banks Disburse Record Amount Of Agri Loans To Farmers

Pune, 6th April 2022: After the Yavatmal district collector warned nationalised banks that all government department accounts will be closed as they were not providing Agri loans to farmers, Pune District Collector Rajesh Deshmukh also took a similar stand. And the result is that this year private, nationalised and cooperative banks have lent the highest loan amount to farmers.

According to the information given by the collectorate, in the Pune district, the loans given to farmers under the Kisan credit card are the highest in history. The amount is Rs 3892.40 crore and it has benefited 3.77 lakh farmers in the district. The nationalised banks achieved the 104% target, while the private banks achieved a 99.81% target. The Pune district central cooperative bank played a major role by distribursing Rs 2333 crore.

To achieve the target, a follow-up has been taken with all the banks. The Collector himself took time to time meeting in this regard.
