Pune: Two Hockey Players Beaten Up During Argument Near Balewadi Stadium

Balewadi, 23rd March 2022: National-level hockey players got into an argument during the game and one of the players attacked the other two hockey players along with his friends.

One was attacked with a knife and the other was beaten and his two teeth were knocked out. A case has been registered against nine persons in this regard.

The incident took place in front of the gates of Balewadi Hostel at Mahalunge-Balewadi on Tuesday (March 22) around 7:45 pm.

Rohan Rajendra Patil (21), who is residing at Kridaprabodhini, Mhalunge, has lodged a complaint at Hinjawadi Police Station (Pimpri Chinchwad police) on Wednesday (March 23) in this regard. Rohan and his friend Harish Shindagi were injured in the incident. Police have registered a case against Pratik Birajdar and his eight friends.

According to the information given by police, Rohan and his friend Harish and Pratik are all national-level hockey players. They had an argument during the game on March 21.

Around 7.45 pm on Tuesday (March 22), Rohan and Harish were chatting in front of the gates of the hostel when Pratik came there with eight of his friends. In a fit of rage regarding the March 21 incident, Rohan sustained injuries on the left arm. He was also beaten by some punches and kicks. According to the complaint, Rohan’s friend Harish was also beaten with punches and kicks and his two teeth were knocked out and was seriously injured.

Police are investigating the case.
