Pune: For Wearing Shorts, Woman Beats PG Girls With Slippers In Kharadi

Kharadi, 4th March 2022: Six members of a family have been booked for allegedly trespassing in a house and a woman among them allegedly beat paying guest (PG) girls with slippers for wearing shorts.

Based on a complaint from a 32-year-old woman who is the owner of the PG accommodation, an FIR has been registered against six family members.

According to police, the incident took place around 10.15 pm on March 2 (Wednesday) in Anusuya Park’s Lane no. 2 in the Rakshaknagar area of Kharadi.

“The accused were not liking that three girls staying in my PG house roamed around in shorts. They entered the house without any permission and abused me and the girls. They hit me with hands while one woman beat the girls with slippers. They also threatened to demolish my house”, the complainant stated in her FIR.

Police have booked the accused for offences under sections 448, 323, 504, 506, 143,147 and 149 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Assistant Police Inspector Manohar Sonwane is further investigating the case.
