Pune: Stolen Gold, Silver Jewellery Worth Rs 13 Lakh Recovered By Hadapsar Police

Hadapsar, 17th February 2022: The sleuths from Hadapsar police station of Pune city police have solved seven burglary cases and recovered gold, silver ornaments worth Rs 13 lakh.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 5) Namrata Patil said that the detection was done while investigating a jewellery theft case at the house of a family who had gone Balaji Darshan on 10th February.

“While investigating the case, policemen Shashikant Nale, Nikhil Pawar and Sachin Jadhav found that one Arjun Ashok Patil (31) of Gosavi Vasti in Hadapsar had committed burglaries along with his accomplice Akash Lakre. Accordingly, they were nabbed and our team recovered 165 gold ornaments worth Rs 7.13 lakh. These valuables were stolen in six theft cases in Hadapsar”, she added.

Senior Police Inspector Arvind Gokule, in-charge of Hadapsar police station, said, “Another theft case was reported on August 3 last year and Crime Branch unit 5 had arrested an accused Vijay Subhash Deshmane of Buldhana in the case. After he was handed over to us for further investigation, our team recovered 120 gram gold jewellery and 35 gram silver ornaments, totally worth Rs 6.03 lakh, from the possession of Deshmane and jeweller Akshay Sriniwas Dixit (25) of Kalewadi.”

The investigation was done under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (East region) Namdev Chavan, DCP Namrata Patil and ACP (Hadapsar division) Bajrang Desai.

The team included Police Inspectors (crime) Vishwas Dagle, Digambar Shinde, Assistant Police Inspector Vijay Shinde, PSI Avinash Shinde and police personnel Pradip Sonawane, Avinash Gosavi, Sandeep Rathod, Sameer Pandule, Shashikant Nale, Sachin Jadhav, Shahid Sheikh, Prashant Dudhal, Nikhil Pawar, Prashan Tonpe, Riaz Sheikh, Sachin Gorkhe and Suraj Kumar.
