Pune ZP Screens 3.2 Lakh Children In Rural Areas

Pune, 21st January 2022: Medical Officers and Community Health Officers screened 3.2 lakh children in the last one month in the age groups of 0-6 years residing in rural areas of Pune district. The data was entered into a diagnostic support software system to assist the doctors in accurate diagnosis.

Pune Zilla Parishad (ZP) has identified 2099 malnourished children and 5201 children who probably require medical intervention.

“Starting today, the identified children would be checked by a specialist and guided by dieticians. We would conduct blood tests and body scanning to recommend the medical, surgical and nutritional intervention to ensure the best of health to our children. All of these interventions would be provided free of cost to the children”, said ZP CEO Ayush Prasad.
