Pune: DoRBit Foundation Donates 300 School Bags To Celebrate Christmas

Hinjawadi, 25th December 2021: The spirit of holidays is in the air and Christmas is around the corner. The festival of Santa is here and once again DoRBit Foundation joined this festivity to add happiness to the lives of many.

The organization conducted a donation drive, “You Can Be a Secret Santa” which received huge support from across the nation and world. DoRBit foundation this year brings presents to ZP Bhoirwadi School in the form of school bags distribution for underprivileged students. 

DoRBit Foundation had an opportunity to have Senior Police Inspector Balakrishna Sawant, in-charge of Hinjawadi Police Station as the Guest of Honour who addressed the students and spread the awareness amongst people and inspired them to contribute to the society drive. 

He applauded the efforts of DoRBit Foundation team and the way they are working for needy students and people. He then distributed school bags to a few students on the occasion of Christmas today.  

The event was graced by the presence of Dr Sunita More as the Chief Guest, who is a doctor by profession and a visionary leader too. Dr Sunita is a social activist and an entrepreneur also. She is the President of More Charitable Trust and Shantidoot Pariwar and doing many social initiatives.

Also, the event had the presence of NCP Pune Secretary Nand Kishor Bhoir as the Guest of Honour. Bhoir is president of the school SMC committee and he has been working closely with DoRbit Foundation team closely for many other social initiatives. His valuable support was very well appreciated by DoRBit and school team today.

These guests were welcomed and felicitated by NGO director Indrajit Roy and school head master Rameshwar Zuluk by presenting them a bouquet, DoRBit badge and a green plant.  

DoRBit NGO Founder Vipin Mohit Shrivastava welcomed special guests and volunteers of DoRBit team Kavita Sagar, Sutapa Ganguli, Ankur Pathak, Partho Dutta Roy, SK Sinha, Chetan Pagare, Nilesh Bhoir and Vishwanath Bhoir who are well-known leaders of Hinjawadi residential societies, Bhoirwadi gaon and many social groups.

DoRBit Core team members Abhishek Singh, Impa Roy Shrivastava, Ashish Kumar Rai, Milind Ingulkar, Viraj Medhe and Aslam Dhanani were also present during the event who ensured smooth school bags distribution.

The dedicated group of volunteers included Vijaya Shrivastava, S. Kumar, Vinod Singh, Rahul Tilak, Bhavna Kandpal, Samik Anwar, Hina Azad, Anant Sinha, Shri Satendra Sinha, Priya Gupta, Saimah khan, Ragavi, Viraj Medhe, Mrinal Thakur, Ragavi, Preeti Dutta Roy, Sanjana, Hari and Raushan Shrivastava who not only organized the event flawlessly but also their commitment influenced many to be one of them. 

The event began with great pomp and splendour. The stage was decorated in the spirit of Christmas and in the warm winter morning the celebration began. It included a great anchoring performance by S. Kumar, followed by carol singing and dance performances by students on the iconic tune of “We wish you a merry Christmas” and few other songs as well, but that was not all. Students cheered on a rocking dance performance by Yash Ingulkar.

After a short break of refreshment, the bag distribution drive began which covered approximately 300 students who were called in batches to collect the bags ensuring covid guidelines.

The occasion completed with a note of thanks by NGO Director Impa Roy Shrivastava where She thank the DoRbit volunteers and donors. She shared a heartfelt note of thank to each and every one who made the “Secret Santa” a successful event.
