Pune: Gym Trainer Becomes Thief After Facing Financial Crunch Due To Pandemic

Pune, 10th December 2021: A gym trainer, whose financial situation deteriorated due to the closure of the gym during the pandemic period, stole Mangalsutra from a jewellery shop. He committed the theft with his wife. Police have arrested him and recovered the ornament.

 

According to police, complainant Rahul Rajesh Gaikwad works as a salesman at Parmar Jewelers in Rasta Peth. The accused couple had visited the shop on November 30. He pretended to buy jewellery and asked to show Mangalsutra. After this, the salesperson was distracted and the accused stole a Mangalsutra weighing approximately 22 grams and worth Rs 1.12 lakh.

 

After the case was registered, Assistant Police Inspector Sandeep Jore conducted an investigation based on technical analysis. At that time, CCTV footage showed the accused riding a two-wheeler. Police found the number of the bike. The bike was in his wife’s name.

 

After further investigation, gym trainer Balasaheb Pradeep Kumar Hande (35), a native of Gujarat, who resides in Undri, was arrested.
